Project 1 Fettuccine Truss Bridge
In a group, student are required to design and construct a fettucini bridge of 350mm clear span and maximum weight of 80g.
These requirements are to be met, or else it may result in reduction of grade. The bridge will be then tested to fail. Other than aesthetic value, the design of the bridge must be of high efficiency, i.e. using the least material to sustain the higher load.

Individual part
This project is divided into 2 parts which is group work and individual work. The initial part of the project requires atudents to obtain floor plan of a maximum 3 storeys bungalow, preferably 2 storeys in a group of 8. We need to carry out structural framing and prepare structural drawings for the bungalow. Structural plans should include foundation plan, ground floor plan, first floor plan and roof plan. Then followed by second part of the project, students need to propose an extension work to the bungalow. After framing the extension by using appropriate structural members, students are required to identify and quantify the load acting on the structure. Through this project, we were able to produce a complete documentation on structural system of a case study, understand the concept of structural analysis, identify structural components and produce a structural proposal.
