Jandabaik, Pahang Site Visit
On 1st of March 2013 (Friday) to 3rd of March (Sunday). Me and my friends from the January intake 2013 Foundation in Natural and Built Environment course have the opportunity to visit a rural area , Jandabaik situated at Pahang. It is a very fun and unforgettable experience. From this trip, the bonding between me and my course mate become a lot more closer. I have also learned about the beauty of the nature <3

It took about 1 and a half hour to reach there. The first site that we stop by is Danau Daun.
First Site : Danau Daun


There are a lot of bamboo planted around Danau daun

It's said to made out of the wood around this place

Second Site : Malay House


Beside the malay house is a waterfall. It is as the source of water and food for the villagers.

Although the malay house is not big, but the kitchen is full of the things needed

Third Site : Taman Hana

The building here are built by an architect named Dyed Hussein Alattas

At the staircase, the used wheel are use as handrail. This way of preserving the environment is very creative.

It is built at the middle of the garden.

Fencing Construction

To built fencing at the side of the pond, we will have to dig a hole which is 2 and a half feet tall.

There was a minor problem faced. In construction there are always a lot of different problem.

Concrete poles are placed into the holes. Before placing it in,small stones were put at the bottom of the hole to act as a base. Cement is then poured in then lastly concrete pole.

To built fencing at the side of the pond, we will have to dig a hole which is 2 and a half feet tall.
Fourth Site : Dato Abdul Rashid dan Keluarga (D'ARK)

It's a place that is built to let us get away from the city life and hug the beautiful nature.

Fifth Site : Orang Asli Settlement

The orang asli settlement is built in somewhere in the forest near the river.

The roof of the settlement is made out of nipah leaf.

The wall of the settlement is made out of pieces of wood.

Hiking Experience

This place is a very beautiful forest that haven't been destroy by the human yet. There is a waterfall that starts at the top of the mountain and end at the bottom of the mountain.

Sixth Site : Orchard at Puncak Rimba


This building is built to suite the Bali style

The building is made out of wood, and the design of it is very emazing
