Fragile is the concept for this nature appreciation centre.

 

 

The concept came from an insect inhabited in Royal Belum, which is the mayfly. This insect stays in water for more than two years as a nymph until it came out of the water after two years , which makes the whole process precious & astonishing. Unfortunately, after mating, it will die. The process where it liberated out from the water till its death occurs less than a day, thus i realize that the life of a mayfly is very fragile.

 

 

The forest is also a very fragile element, it may take centuries or even more to grow, from one deserted land to a forest which is full of natural life and resources. But because of human’s selfish act that always take things for granted, we abuse the forest without even thinking twice, causing the forest to be in a great hazard.

 

 

Photography is the program i chose because it captures the moment. Someone once told me, ‘When you like a flower, you pluck it. But when you love a flower, you water it daily’.

 

 

My goal, is to allow the visitor who comes to this nature appreciation centre to feel the frailness of the forest & will start to care more about mother nature.

 

 

Therefore, the design development started with a photo frame, that represents the captured moment of frailness in the forest.
